Wednesday ( Movie review on the Wizard of Oz @ 11:01:00 AM ) The Wizard Of OZ The movie emphasize on the desire each human being have and how desire could release the hidden potential within the each of us. I believe the movie will be appealing to the kids at that time due to the popularity of the original story, which probably means being as popular as how “Charlie and the chocolate factory” is today. Although the costume is not very well made, considering that the scarecrow looks like some zombie from Halloween and the lion’s head makes it looks like a monkey rather than a lion, it has been covered up by the actor’s brilliant acting. Although the plot may not interest adults in viewing, the humorous lines and the actor’s exaggerated actions in the movie will definitely make you laugh like you never had before. The movie is also consider a form of educational program as it emphasizes on certain moral values, for example, that bad people will not come to an good end, that no matter what we want to do, even if it seems impossible at the start, as long as we persevere, we will achieve it in the end, and also most importantly, “there’s no place like home”. When Dorothy was still in the “real world”, the scenes are shown in brown colour. This gives the scene an old, woebegone yet peaceful look, which is probably what the director wants to achieve. When Dorothy is in the “dream land”, there is a contrast from the real world as the scenes are shown in colour mode, and every scene is so colourful that it indicates that it is the land “beyond the blue sky”. Considering olden days’ technology, the movie is pretty well made already, though if you compare with today’s movie like “Charlie and the chocolate factory” which have make use of a lot of computer techniques to make it look more realistic, the standards are way apart. Therefore, the key element of this movie’s success would be the actors and its great combination of music with motion. 0 comments |
